The Broken Arrow Arts Council hosts several visual arts events throughout the year in Broken Arrow. Art After Hours is a program that allows community members to meet and connect with local artists in a relaxed, creative atmosphere. These events are held after work hours so that people can attend on their way home from work. Artists are present so that people can ask questions and talk with the artists about their creations. Free food and music are provided courtesy of the Arts Council's generous patrons and members.
The "Chalk It Up" chalk art festival, held in the Rose District, Broken Arrow's historic downtown arts and entertainment district, allows artists to showcase their artwork in a fun, temporary and social way. Many people visit the event as the artists actively work. Sidewalk artists such as face painters, stilt walkers and temporary tattoo artists make the event a fun and special event.
Visit our Events page often for updates on the latest Arts Council and community events that showcase Broken Arrow's arts culture.
Music
Broken Arrow is ever growing in its musical offerings, from premier concerts at the BAPAC to local restaurants hosting Oklahoma artists. The Broken Arrow Arts Council also works to provide access to local/regional music during its Tuesday's in the Park concert series. This fun-filled event provides great concerts with different bands each year at Broken Arrow's Central Park. Bring your lawn chairs and enjoy local food vendors at this fun and free summer event.
